The Blog Awakens! An intro to The Festival of the (Star Wars) Podcasters.

Hi everyone!

It's Dani (aka Semperfidani) here!

The purpose of this blog is to highlight some of the positive (and at times important) discussions and content created from the Star Wars podcast community.  I was inspired by all the amazing audio and visual content that fans create (for free) for other Star Was fans to enjoy.

For those that don't know my story, I was born on May 24, 1977... a day before the very first Star Wars movie was released in theatre. However, due to circumstances (raised by a single mother in a female only household, no family interested in Star Wars, thought it was a "boy  movie"), I didn't watch a Star Wars until 40 years later!

I was in a bit of a depression due to coming to the end of the road of my fertility journey with no success. Over the Easter weekend, there was a Star Wars marathon on TV. The first movie I saw was The Force Awakens, and I was hooked. I proceeded to watch the OT & PT (in that order) over the span of the three days.

A month later, it was my 41st birthday, and I had advanced screening tickets to see Solo. For the first time, I got a sense of just how amazing this fandom is. But the ending of Solo both excited me and confused the hell out of me. How the fresh hell did Maul survive?

Wanting to find out the answers led me down this rabbit hole of Star Wars Twitter, and most importantly, the podcast community. It became VERY CLEAR early on that I had a lot to learn, and the podcast community has filled that gap in knowledge very well. As well, every single podcaster I've encountered has been incredibly accepting of me, and eager to share their knowledge to help me.

The purpose of this blog is really a thank you to all of you amazing Star Wars podcast creators for everything you do to spread a positive message about Star Wars. The title is a play on The Festival of the Ancestors in Pasaana that was featured in The Rise of Skywalker.

This isn't intended to be a recap of every single podcast created in a week. There is no possible way for me to catching everything produced in a week (not for lack of trying...lol). I just want to post a little cross-section of amazing, ynwim? Occasionally, I might end up posting something new-to-me (created outside of the week mentioned).

One more thing! This isn't a popularity contest. My hope is to highlight from a cross-section of Star Wars podcasts. But I do have my go-to podcasts who you may see more than others!  And by all means, feel free to tag me on Twitter (@semperfidani) if you have a particularly important or special episode or content that you me to check out!

May the Force Be With You!

P.S. If you want a deeper dive into my personal story, check out my interview with Pete Fletzer from Around The Galaxy Podcast!
